The James Brand was founded on the simple fact that the type of knives and tools they wanted on hand every day simply didn’t exist. Their vision was to design amazingly well-made gear with a fresh perspective that’s practical, never tactical. From the start, they put build quality, simplicity, and considered details that matter most as the priority. They wanted to build a brand that reflected not only how a new generation of creatives and adventurers move through the world but also delivered the every day essentials they want in their pocket along the way. We worked alongside their team right from the start, crafting a brand identity to perfectly pair with the DNA of the products we helped design as well. We developed a modern and minimal yet dynamic and colorful approach that seamlessly transitions from analog to digital, lives naturally on products, and sets the stage for authentic storytelling. The essence of the identity is a modern depiction of man’s first tool—the Clovis Point—expanding out from there with a focus on elevating the stories of the people who embody the ethos of the brand.
