For athletes pushing the boundaries of their sport, every technical advantage counts. When Dr. Smith created the world’s first fog-free snow goggle—a double lens with ventilation— It wasn’t to dominate competition or out-style other people on the slopes. He designed the goggles for himself—so he could get outdoors and have a blast on days weather forced everyone else to stay inside.  Smith’s product heritage is anchored in amplifying the thrill of human experience. Getting people outdoors and having fun, the experience is everything. The 4D goggle began as an open-ended innovation project to identify pain points with current goggle architectures and push for unconventional ways to evolve them and improve a rider’s experience. Testing and prototyping our hypotheses, together we identified a number of opportunities for innovation and designed a completely new way to experience the outdoors.
